So much for beer being a manly drink…Most beers are made from hops and here is what hops does to the male body:

"Hops is perhaps one of the most powerfully estrogenic plants on Earth. Just 100 grams of hops (about 3.5 ounces) contains anywhere from thirty thousand to three thousand IUs of estrogens, depending on the type of hops. Most of it is the very potent estrogen estradiol.

The estradiol in hops has been found to directly interfere with the ability of the testes Leydig cells to produce testosterone."

Simply put: Beer increases the conversion of testosterone into estrogen.
Kiss Take home message: Drinking lots of beer may result in a beer gut, Gynecomastia (aka “bitch tits”) and an insatiable desire to watch the movie "Love Actually" or any Hugh Grant movie for that matter.

In addition, alcohol raises your insulin levels dramatically which makes you fat-storing machine. Even if you train very long and hard, you won’t burn off any fat whilst you have alcohol in your system!
